What a fantabulous question, thank you so much for asking!
If you don’t know who I am, my name is Violette. I’m the cozy + creative virtual assistant (VA) behind Hello VMVA. Today I am going to be telling you all about the world of virtual assistants and the possibilities they open up for business owners. Who better to explain it to you than someone on the inside?

Let’s start off with the name. Virtual Assistant, seems pretty self explanatory, but for teaching sake I’m going to break it down.
Google defines a virtual assistant as:
[…] an independent contractor who provides administrative, technical, or creative services to clients remotely.
Basically anything that you can hire someone to do that uses a computer and can be done online or through a digital platform can be done by a virtual assistant. There are two ways to become a VA that I am aware of. Two paths you could take when searching for a VA.
One. You can look for an employee that will fill the role of a virtual assistant. Set up the whole hiring process, have interviews, outline expectations and pick someone suited to your business.
OR
Two, you can work with a VA business. This is how google explained it, an independent contractor. Which means that you are signing a contract. Entering a partnership with another business that is going to provide you with a service. The same way you would hire a plumber to fix your pipes, you hire a virtual assistant to solve a problem for you.
Typically, the goal of a VA is to save you time.
As a business owner you wear many hats; accountant, CEO, marketer, administration, customer service and many more. With a VA you can take off some of those hats and pass it on to them. Giving you time to focus on parts of your business that a) needs extra attention or b) you just really love doing.
Virtual assistants sound pretty great now right?
Well, we are!
The best part about virtual assistants is that there are so many to choose from that specialize in tasks that you need help with! So if you need chat support for your big sale coming up, you can find a VA who does that, or if you need you email inbox sorted and managed then you can find a VA that does that!
Here’s a great example of how a VA can specialize in services with a glimpse of what I offer as a VA business.

Like the google quote said, virtual assistants help with creative, technical or admin services for their clients, which is a pretty wide range of services to be able to choose from. But when you think about it there is also a wide range of business types to work with.
VA’s can also be specific about the businesses that they work with. This is really good news for you because that means that you can find someone who has worked with your specific business model, knowing the ins and outs of it.
Finding the right VA to support your business needs is like a high five, satisfying and simple. As long as you know what you’re looking for and where you’re aiming. If you walked into a room of VAs, you wouldn’t just hire the first one you saw. You would walk around hear what they offer and who they work with and choose the one that suites your needs best.
The internet is big but it’s exactly like that. Working with a VA is a partnership so you both get something out of it. One of those things is more time and less stress!
After learning about the basics of what a VA is, do you feel like this is something your business needs?
